DAVE PLAYS DRUMS AGAIN!

DAVE PLAYS DRUMS AGAIN!
Originally starting out in music back in 1958 Dave was a member of a rock'n'roll duo called The Dominos as the singer/drummer, .
Over fifty years later he sat behind the kit again at a recent gig at Seacroft Holiday Park, Hemsby.
Due to the fact that he was suffering from a sore throat and so as not to cause it any damage by over-use, he combined the music with a question and answer session plus a brief spot by The Cruisers. Dave also swapped roles with Cruisers' drummer John Firminger who sang whilst Dave played drums on a rousing rendition of Great Balls Of Fire. The only drawback to this was that Dave proved to be a better drummer than John was as a singer!
With all it's variations, the show was well received by both the audience and the promoter. However, at this stage, we're not sure whether Dave will take up the drums again on a more regular basis!

CRUISER CHRIS GETS NOMINATED
Cruisers guitarist Chris Firminger was nominated on by trendy Sheffield magazine Toast for the top Guitarist award alongside rock'n'roll legend Duane Eddy.
At the ceremony on 20th. October, Shez Sheridan, guitarist wirth Richard Hawley's band, won the award but gave half his prize, a bottle of vodka to runner-up Chris.
Fellow-Cruiser and Chris's Dad, John was obviously very proud that he had received such recognition by being nominated and is currently helping Chis to promote some solo gigs in Sheffield.
